We are proud to announce that CANRAD has secured a competitive intercontinental research grant from the Trans-Atlantic Platform on Democracy, Governance and Trust.
Titled “Repairing sociality, safeguarding democracy: Trans-Atlantic North-South narratives and practices of deep equality”, the project spans South Africa, Brazil, Canada, and the United Kingdom and will run from September 2024 to August 2027.
At the inception meeting in Swansea, UK, in October, participants included (from left to right) Prof. Thabisani Ndlovu (co-PI, Walter Sisulu University), Prof. Lori Beaman (co-PI, University of Ottawa), Prof. Christi van der Westhuizen (Lead PI, Mandela University), Prof. Paula Montero (co-PI, University of São Paulo), and Prof. Bheki Mngomezulu (co-PI, Mandela University).
The project tackles the global challenge of social polarization by exploring practices of "living together well".
