As Senior Researcher, Prof Van der Westhuizen published the Routledge Handbook of Critical Studies in Whiteness and The D-Word–Perspectives on Democracy in Tumultuous Times, along with book chapters and articles in journals such as Law & Critique and Africa Today. She hosted/co-hosted 25+ seminars and the 2021 ‘State We’re In’ conference, launched the CANRAD postdoc programme, mentored research interns and delivered several Doctoral and Master’s graduates. Director Prof Mngomezulu and colleagues wished her the best for her future endeavours.
