Olutobi Akingbade is a Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CANRAD. His research focus is on the intersection of journalism and mass media, especially newer forms of digital, social and mobile media. Olutobi is particularly interested in frames and models of public health communication and questions of social justice and democracy on the African continent and in the Global South. He completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Rhodes University’s School of Journalism and Media Studies where he served as a tutor and a teaching and research assistant. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
