Simphiwe Zondani is a Research Intern and a Master’s student in the Department of Media and Communication. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media, Communications and Culture, with majors in English Literature and Cultural Studies, and an Honours Degree in Media Studies. His research interests bestride various disciplines, namely media and film studies, literature and cultural studies, with a current focus on the local reading crisis and the unexplored critical potential of digital media-based reading initiatives, which challenge the aura and privilege of print and book cultures and established methods of knowledge consumption
