Multi-award winning South African musician, singer, song writer, music and television producer and talk show host. Her debut album Poles Apart (2001) won a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Rock Album of the Year and two SABC Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Rock Album.

She has since released another 13 albums and collaborated with artists such as Vusi Mahlasela, Dorothy Masuka, Thandiswa Mazwai, Zolani Mahola (Freshly Ground) and Laurika Rauch. Zoid’s television talk and music show on DSTV, Republiek van Zoid Afrika, is in its sixth season and has won the National Film and Video Foundation’s South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for Best Talk Show and Best Talk Show Host. She has also served as a judge on the South African version of the television musical talent show The Voice.

As a successful business woman and entrepreneur, Zoid has established a music and television recording studio, Mothership Studios, near Cape Town, which attracts artists from across the continent and the globe. She performed at former President Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday concert and at the inauguration celebration of former President Thabo Mbeki, among other concerts at the Union Buildings, and has toured multiple times across the world. Time Magazine called her a South African musical icon and she has won the SAMA for Best Female Artist.
